I aplogise if you have received this email recently, however if you have you would be one of 10% of my data base as I discovered recently very few people have been receiving my newsletters due to a bug in the software. Technology is great when it works! So except for this weeks portfolio update, this email is almost the same as last weeks.
Last week I did a 2 year portfolio review, the result interestingly was exactly double the 28% of the first years result. So 56% for the 2 year mark. If your interested in reading that newsletter of last week, some of the others of this year you may have missed, or even further back, click on the link below.
The goal of publicly displaying a live (real money not paper trading) portfolio was to help my clients, past, present and future gain confidence and trust. Not just in me but in the fact it is possible to make sustainable profits from the share market. It's not gambling, luck or some freaky ability a few have. Sustainable profits come from having a method with a probability of winning.........and drum roll.......sticking to it. That has been my consistent mantra since I wrote the website in 2011, and it hasnt changed. I doubt that it will.
Good trading can be an easy process, being human, emotional and complicated beings, we often make it harder than it has to be. Another of my mantras has been "trading is easy, the psychology is not."
Weekly trend trading requires you do just a few things.
Buy stocks going up. (preferably a business with strong fundamentals)
Size your trades as to the volatility of the stock, and YOUR personal risk level.
Have a pre determined exit.
STICK TO IT (the psychology minefield part)
If you are not doing the above within a set method or system, you are not trading but gambling, and you will most likely underperform or even lose. Rather then repeat again what I always say in my newsletters, if you are struggling in the market then I suggest you have a look at this page on the website. I assure you it will help.
Also rather than post all the portfolio review here, all details such as trades done, current holdings, graphs, wins and losses etc can be accessed by clicking the link below. The market had a good week and rallied, the portfolio followed rising from 56 to 60%.
Every week I post for free the 52 week closing high signals for the Course System 2. I also make brief market comments and post a few charts. If you want to read about that system or check other content on the page click here.
I stopped teaching courses to focus on research and development, personal coaching, my own trading and to do more study in Zen psychology and philosophy. I am being asked again more often to run a course. I have been reluctant to do this as in the past it has not been financially viable. Obviously I have overheads and then the enormous prep time I like to do before presenting anything. If you are genuinely interested in attending a course email me back. The course would be in Sydney only, and cost $770. If I get enough genuine interest I will seriously consider it. The course would be held on a Saturday, outside of school holidays, later this year.
If you are interested in this option, details of what I provide and estimated costs (every clients need is different) can be accessed here.
Final comment: its been a difficult market recently for many people. The large traditional stocks have not performed hurting many super funds. It's been a sideways to down market making swing trading also very difficult. The profits have been in weekly trend trading mid cap growth stocks. If you have been under performing you are not alone, re group, re learn, it can be done. If you have read this far then you are interested, so I suggest you read this newsletter from a few months ago, which you probably missed.
“My finger can point to the moon, but my finger is not the moon. You don’t have to become my finger, nor do you have to worship my finger. You have to forget my finger, and look at where it is pointing.”- Zen saying.
