This newsletter continues with some small grabs from my book the Zen Trader and some information about my upcoming presentation at the Adelaide ATAA.
I often talk about objectives in trading, sometimes we need to stop and ask "what am I doing?"
The title of chapter 7 is "The Objective of Zen". What is it we are doing and what benefits will Zen bring to my trading or investing? Here is a small example from the book.
"More than anything else, it is most definitely the mental suffering of traders that hinders fluidity of thinking. The mental suffering experienced by most traders is often attributable to overthinking, reacting instead of responding, and at times even panicking – which often results in over-trading.
Over-trading is one of the most common reasons for under performance – a mistake to be avoided.
What is really required is less thinking and more awareness."
Adelaide ATAA 21st September 2022
It is a pleasure to be back in Adelaide in person on Wednesday the 21st, a presentation with a lot of content. I will be discussing more about the mental traps we fall into whilst trading and investing.
In 2016 I released my first book "Trading Mindfully using Winning Probability", focusing on one particular trading system. I will be reviewing the trading system in that book, honing in over the last few volatile years, how it performed and what changes can be made to improve it.

The Zen Trader book has sold nearly 600 copies in a few months. Next year it will be translated into German and Spanish to be released throughout Europe. The well known publishing company Jaico has also decided to publish the book throughout India.
The book is receiving good reviews on Amazon with a rating of 4.7 / 5.

A Zen Story
Two monks stood observing a flag moving in the wind. One argued the flag was moving, the other the wind.
A Zen master approached, and they asked, “Master, does the flag move or the wind?”
